I love your idea of donating a free cake at the newspaper. What would your reponse be if they asked who this woman is, then they asked what your name is?? =) I would be too embarrassed to admit.

I’m so happy for you. It’s funny how people respond to good baking. Bakeries just aren’t what they used to be and most of them buy their stuff frozen. Homemade is a rarity these days and you’ll be busier than you ever expected. Can I use this comment on my website? And now that you know you’re successful, there’s so much more in my ebook. You’ll be excited. Thanks for the note.

Oh, this is easy. Go in as a third party. The person you see at the counter is more than likely, NOT the person who writes the column for the newspaper. Anyway, you want to go in and leave it quickly so as not to have time to be face to face with the writer.

Here’s my suggestion for you. Be the delivery person. Walk in and say, “I have a bakery delivery for (whomever this person is, find out ahead of time who writes this column). We’re trying to promote our cakes this week because we’re new and we’d like to let you know who we are and that we’re open for orders.

If they ask you where you’re located, tell them you don’t have a storefront because you specialize in “Made-to-Order” items only and everything is made fresh.
You might make up a menu of what you would like to busy baking and leave it with them when you leave the cake. You’ll have good results. I promise.

Our situation requires that income is the only option. So purchases can’t happen. I’m trying to learn all I can from kind people on YT who post free information. I have things I aquired before this all happened. So I know I can maybe make a few things, possibly sell them. But, we have bills, we need food, so I don’t know how to put it all back into cake supplies:(

I have been making a lot of cakes here lately and people luv them. I lrecently learned how to do bc transfers…ever since everybody can not believe I decorated it. I was asked how much I charged for my cake….how much do u charge for your cakes?

BC transfers are fun. Remember one thing and that is your time is worth alot and people will pay for a cake if they can’t do it. In general, for a 10 in. round I got about $35.00. I added $5.00 for filling. If they wanted special other stuff, the price went up. For a 11X 15 sheet cake which used 3 mixes, I got $60.00 for a basic cake with simple decoration. I air brushed quite a bit and I never ever ever did the star cakes. They were something everyone and anyone could do.

I have a 11 by 15 pan. It can hold 3 cake mixes? The paper that it came with said to use 2 cake mixes. If u use 3 mixes it will just be higher right?

Yes, I’m sorry it’s down. I am starting a new home party business for children’s cooking classes – home party style- and I’m changing my website. I should go on here and tell everyone that when I get a chance. Finding time is the hard part. Can I help you until then?

Local offline advertising is often overlooked as a great form of effective promotion for any business. I’ve used this method with great results many times over the years. If you’re looking for a free way to advertise your business to 10,000 people locally, this might be just what you’re lookng for.
I also love the fact that every time I’ve used this method I’ve made sevral hundred in a few days PLUS got my own ad(s) out to 10,000 local people for FREE
