Tested SEO Tips Proven To Work

By blujam On July 31, 2010 Under Uncategorized

Marketers have been using search engine optimization for years to generate high quality search traffic to websites. It doesn’t matter how great your site looks, if there’s no traffic then there’s no business, or anything. Obviously there’s more to it than just having a website, or blog. The rest of the story involves doing proper optimization, or SEO. Keep reading and we’ll share some tested and verifiable SEO tips you can use in your business starting today.

But take heed of the first tips, before you do any optimisation – you have to decide what to optimise for.  Whether you go for high traffic super competitive terms like BBC Iplayer or promoting a security product that allows anonymous surfing, the keywords you select are extremely important.

It does make a difference, and it does matter that your site is ready and equipped to handle serious traffic. It matters a lot that your website is sufficiently ‘done’ before you begin sending in the visitors. It is never adviseable to have an incomplete website when you start getting visitors. You’ll lose any potential customers because of it, and they will not return – plus it just looks very amateurish. So don’t have the “coming soon” or the “under construction” sign up when you start getting SEO traffic as this will only push people to check out other options.

Never overdo anything, so… on some of your pages you can put keywords in italics, and you can also ‘bold’ them. This is one of the most valuable SEO tips that you will get. You can gain just a little more PR value, SEO weight, to your keywords if you do that to them. Overdoing anything with SEO will always be viewed as spamming of some kind, so never overdo these things. Maybe two to three times, roughly, and that will be enough to add a few more points in your favor. And be sure to use h1 and h2 tags along with your primary and secondary keywords and phrases. Words that are wrapped in such tags are given more value by the search engines. Always keep in mind that each page should be optimized for a primary keyword plus some secondaries.

Backlinks – you’re going to need them if you ever hope to achieve any kind of rankings in the search engines. Search engines look at backlinks as votes from other sites, so when you have many links coming to you from other relevant sites in your niche, then that will give you a boost in your rankings. You really want to avoid getting too many artificial links too quickly because it can raise a flag with the search engines.

You’ll get the most out of your backlinks if they are relevant to your site topic. You’ll be able to rank higher with fewer backlinks if they come from relevant sites and you have good anchor text.

Strong and persistent SEO and getting ranked will bring you consistently good traffic. But keep these tips in mind so that your efforts don’t go to waste. Keep in mind to maintain the right balance of keyword density plus readability and good content. The search engines are not perfect, but they’re not dumb either, so offer high quality and value to your readers. Last but not the least; make sure you are patient and perseverant in your approach with SEO because it will take some time before you see consistent results.
